AUSV will be issuing Press Day credentials for exclusive interviews with the planning committee and hosts. Outlets granted Red Carpet press credentials will be not be able to utilize their credentials on press day. You must submit a separate press credential for exclusive press day interviews.

Why:            A bipartisan group of influential members of the Veterans’ community demonstrate leadership through unity in a time of division. Members of the media will have exclusive access to behind the scenes of the most anticipated inaugural ball in Washington, D.C. The Vettys takes pride in being a bipartisan event that will honor the peaceful transition of power, our proud American tradition.

The Vettys statuette is a custom designed bronzed military boot placed on a sturdy base that signifies the boots on the ground work of the Veterans Service Organizations.  The base of the Vettys statuette represents such organizations and individuals that demonstrate a strong foundation. The Vettys are awarded in six categories highlighting relentless dedication and selfless service to Veterans and their families. 

About The Presidential Vettys Inaugural Ball

In celebration of the 45th President of the United States’ Inauguration and in honor of our service members, an alliance of Veterans Service Organizations will host an exclusive formal ball in the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. on January 20, 2017. It will be a night of honor, elegance and celebration designed to bring together America’s service members and the most influential leaders and members of our society.  


  • All members of the working press must register with valid credentials/media verification.

  • Freelance writers and photographers must present a letter of assignment from an approved outlet to Freelance writers or columnists not on an assignment must provide a copy of an industry-relevant bylined article, published within the past six months in an approved media outlet.

  • Electronic media representatives, including editors of websites and blogs, must present proof of an existing site with relevant editorial content and proof of circulation.

  • Previous attendance does not guarantee approval for press credentials.

  • Submit one form per each person requesting credentials.
